Why Macrolitics

Every strategy review, brand plan and annual plan leans on the same macro numbers: how fast a market is growing, what inflation is doing to prices, how many people are out of work, how young the population is, how many are online. Someone has to go and get them.

If you work in FMCG, run a small business, or do strategy or research work, you’ve probably been that someone: open the IMF site, then the World Bank, then the ITU, find the figures for your markets in each, download the files, clean them, line them up, and chart them. Then do it again next quarter.

Macrolitics does that part for you. The figures from four public sources — the IMF, the World Bank, ITU and Business Ready — are already pulled together, market by market, and charted over a fifteen-year window: ten years of history and five years ahead. You open your markets and read.

The views themselves come from years of doing this work in FMCG alongside research agencies. We know which figures a commercial team actually looks at, so each tab shows those, kept simple, rather than everything a source publishes.

When you want a chart of your own, export the numbers to Excel and build it the way you like.

It covers 125 markets. Not every country in the world — the 125 we selected, which is where most of the commercial work happens.
